Teachers will soon be receiving the LwICT Parent Handbook along with a covering letter. Please encourage teachers to become familiar with the contents.
After teachers have had a chance to preview the Handbook parents will all receive their copies with an appropriate cover letter.
Student Assessment and Reporting
This year all teachers K-8 will be asked to report on three of the LwICT BIG Ideas.
The report will be done only in second term and will be a one page insert.
Every effort will be made to distribute a copy of the insert to schools well before reporting time.
Second Term Report Big Ideas
Teachers will report on the following three ideas from the LwICT Continuum. Cognitive Domain
Demonstrates critical thinking with ICT to plan and gather information
Demonstrates creative thinking with ICT to produce and communicate information Affective Domain
Demonstrates responsibility and ethics with ICT
11. Notes and Homework Assignment: Please talk to your staff members about what software they are using. In particular:
World Book Online
Atomic Learning
School Kit
Ezedia support
RAZ Kids
Learning A-Z
and any other pieces of software that your school pays for but others may use and that we can combine to save some money.
Send an email to Stephen Dudar (sdudar@lssd.ca) with your info. In the subject field type in "Divisional software purchase." Please complete this task by 3:30 Fri Sept 26.
